Maison Duthoit is a very comfortable and charming house with a large, beautifully landscaped garden, located approximately 5 minutes' drive from the Provençal village of Rians. This lovely area is the Haut Var Verdon region in Provence, which remains relatively undiscovered by tourists. It features picturesque villages perched on hillsides. The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and can accommodate 6/7 people. The stunning surroundings and your private swimming pool create an ideal holiday spot to enjoy all the wonderful offerings of Provence.
Rians is about a 50-minute drive from the famous Gorges du Verdon and Lac de Sainte Croix. The city of Aix en Provence is reachable in 40 minutes, and the Mediterranean Sea is just over an hour away. For hikers, there are endless beautiful hiking trails, including the Grande Randonée 99.
Arrangement
On the ground floor, there is a spacious and bright living/dining room with a fully equipped open kitchen (oven, large refrigerator with freezer compartments underneath, Delonghi coffee machine with coffee beans, microwave, sodastream).
Also on the ground floor, there are 2 bedrooms: one bedroom with a double bed (1.60 meters wide) and French doors leading outside. The second bedroom also has a double bed (1.60 meters wide). There is a separate bathroom with a bathtub, shower, and two sinks, as well as a separate toilet.
On the first floor, there is a very spacious attic room/floor with 2 single beds (0.80 meters wide) and a sofa bed (1.40 meters wide). On this floor, there is also a bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet.
There are screens on all windows and shutters to keep the temperature inside the house pleasant during the summer. The house is built following bioclimatic principles, so even on very hot days, it doesn't get warmer than 25/26 degrees Celsius on the ground floor.
Adjacent to the living room, there is a lovely covered terrace with a dining table.
Next to the pool, there is an outdoor kitchen with a second outdoor dining table, a barbecue, and a plancha.
The pool is 8 x 4 meters in size with a depth of 1.50 meters.
From the garden, you have direct access to the forest behind the house through a small gate.

Surrounding
The village of Rians is situated in the rolling Provençal hills at the southernmost tip of the Var department, where four departments intersect: Bouches du Rhone, Vaucluse, Alpes de Haute-Provence, and Var. In Rians, you can find 2 bakeries, a butcher, a supermarket, a doctor, a pharmacy, a dentist, a veterinarian, 2 cafes, and some restaurants. The impressive church of Maria of Nazareth in Rians is certainly worth a visit.
Larger supermarkets can be found in Saint Maximin de la Baume (approximately a 20-minute drive). Here, there's a delightful Provençal market on Wednesday mornings.
Restaurants in the immediate vicinity include Hostellerie de L’Esplanade and La Roquette in Rians, and La Bergerie in Ginasservis. In Varages, you'll find the local restaurant Le Provence.
In the vicinity of Rians, there are several beautiful vineyards producing excellent wines. It's definitely worth visiting them for wine tasting. Some of them include Chateau Vignelaure, Chateau Revelette, Domaine des Toulons, Domaine la Realtiere, Abbaye de St. Hilaire, Chapelle de Ste. Bacchi, Chateau Pigoudet, and Domaine Aix.
