Maison Le Hangar
Maison Le Hangar is situated on a plot of approximately 3,800 m², 2 km from the Provençal village of Esparron-de-Pallières. The house (120 m² of living space) is a renovated hangar from an old railway station. The renovation has been carried out to a very high standard with great attention to detail. Authentic features have been preserved. The result is a very comfortable holiday home full of charm. The beautifully maintained garden and private swimming pool make it a dream location. There are three very well-appointed bedrooms and two bathrooms. The house can accommodate six people. Esparron-de-Pallières is about a 50-minute drive from the Gorges du Verdon and Lake Sainte-Croix. The Mediterranean Sea is just over an hour’s drive away. The town of Aix-en-Provence is a 40-minute drive away. For walkers, there are endless beautiful walking routes, including the Grande Randonée 99.
Rental price is per week, from 4.00 pm on Saturday to 10.00 am on Saturday, unless otherwise agreed.
Includes gas, water, electricity and Wi-Fi. During the winter months, firewood for the open fire is also included.
Excludes the cost of the compulsory end-of-stay cleaning fee of €110. Bed linen and towels available to hire for €17 per person. Security deposit €400

Layout
On the ground floor of the house, you’ll find a fully fitted open-plan kitchen (dishwasher, oven, hob: 2 induction hobs and 2 gas burners, microwave, fridge, freezer). There is also a living/dining room. On the first floor, there are three bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed (1.80 by 2.00) and an en-suite bathroom (two washbasins, an Italian-style shower and a toilet). A second bedroom has a double bed (1.80 by 2.00) and a third bedroom has two single beds (0.90 by 2.00). There is also a separate bathroom with an Italian-style shower, washbasin and toilet.
Adjoining the living room is a cosy terrace with a dining table and a sofa. There is also a plancha for outdoor cooking. Next to the terrace is the swimming pool (3.5 by 9.30 metres). The depth slopes from 1.10 to 1.60 metres. There is a large, well-maintained garden where you’ll find plenty of spots to relax with a book and where children can play to their heart’s content. There is a third bathroom outside with an Italian-style shower.
Facilities include: high-speed fibre-optic internet, washing machine, dishwasher, television with French and international channels. 3 bicycles, table tennis table.
Pets and smoking are not permitted inside the house.
Area
The beautiful region is the Haut Var Verdon, situated in Provence. Esparron-de-Pallières is about a 50-minute drive from the Gorges du Verdon and Lake Saint-Croix. The Mediterranean Sea is just over an hour’s drive away. The town of Aix-en-Provence is a 40-minute drive away. For walkers, there are endless beautiful walking routes, including the Grande Randonée 99.
In Varages (7 km) there is a lovely bakery and a good butcher’s. There is also a small grocery shop. In the centre of Rians (12 km) you will find a bakery, a butcher’s, a fishmonger’s and the Carrefour supermarket.
Larger supermarkets can be found in Saint-Maximin-de-la-Baume, about a 20–25-minute drive away, and in Vinon-sur-Verdon, also about a 20–25-minute drive away. In Saint-Maximin-de-la-Baume, there is a lively Provençal market on Wednesday mornings.
Restaurants in the area: La Bergerie in Ginasservis; in Rians, Hostellerie de L’Esplanade and La Roquette; and in Varages, the local restaurant Le Provence.
In Esparron-de-Pallières itself and in the nearby village of Saint-Martin-de-Pallières, you’ll find a Bistro de Pays. Simple but tasty meals are served here. The bistro in Saint-Martin has a large terrace with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
